March 10 (SeeNews) - Gas transmission company ICGB said on Friday it launched a 2.7 million euro tender ($2.87 million) for insurance of the natural gas interconnector Bulgaria-Greece.
Offers are accepted until March 21, ICGB said in a notice published in the public procurement register.
The planned contract envisages insurance against all risks of property damage, including machinery breakdown and operation disruption. The tender also covers general liability insurance, insurance against terrorism, sabotage, riots, strikes, civil disturbances and malicious acts.
The gas interconnector reached a booking rate of 94% on its capacity in December last year, after being commissioned on October 1, ICGB said in January.
The 182-kilometre, 253 million euro pipeline, has a total capacity of 3 billion cubic metres (bcm) per year, with 1.57 bcm already booked under long-term contracts of up to 25 years. It has been providing about one-third of the natural gas consumed in Bulgaria during the current heating season.
