"Harman has ambitious plans in Romania. The telematics division is a very important one for us and represents the core of the connected car concept, which will lead to the emergence of autonomous cars, once 5G technology will be adopted on a large scale," Harman Romania managing director, Alexandru Motoc, said.
The Romanian telematics team now employs over 80 programmers who build connected car ecosystems for manufacturers such as Mercedes and BMW.
"We want to attract people who are passionate about the auto industry, who want to leave their mark on the new generation of vehicles, with whom we can develop top solutions in a market with huge potential," Motoc added.
Harman has been present in Romania since 2012 and currently employs 400 at its development centre in Bucharest.
Harman designs and manufactures products and solutions for car makers. Since March 2017, Harman is a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
