February 27 (SeeNews) - German electric drive and automation systems manufacturer Baumueller has invested 5 million euro ($5.3 million) to expand its Slovenian production factory in Slovenske Konjice, Baumueller said.
The company has officially opened an electronics unit at its Slovenske Konjice factory and intends to launch production activities at it in March, Baumueller said in a statement last week.
"With the new building, we are doubling our capacities in electronics production. Cable production also moves into the new building, so that we gain more space for the final assembly of the sheet metal production," managing partner Andreas Baumueller said in the statement.
Baumueller intends to expand the workforce in Slovenia and expects to exceed 400 employees at the Slovenske Konjice factory, he added.
The company is also installing a photovoltaic system on the roof of the factory, which will be connected to the grid soon, Baumueller said.
The German electric drive and automation systems manufacturer currently has 370 employees at the factory, which has a footprint of 13,000 square metres.
