January 31 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourists who visited Serbia in 2022 grew by 86% to 1,772,763, the country's statistical office reported on Tuesday.
The number of overnight stays spent by foreign tourists in Serbia increased by 49% to 4,939,394 last year, according to data published by the statistical office.
Bosnia was Serbia's biggest feeder market in 2022, with 148,773 tourists, up 32%. Turkey followed with 125,602 tourists, up 110%. Visitors from Russia came in third, up 67% to 123,425.
The number of domestic tourists increased by 32% on the year to 2,096,472 in 2022, taking the total number of tourists to 3,869,235 million, up 52%.
In December alone, the total number of foreign tourist arrivals rose 69% year-on-year to 159,492, while the total number of overnights spent by foreign tourists added 47% to 430,495.
