PRISTINA (Kosovo), March 7 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign tourists who visited Kosovo in 2018 rose 19% year-on-year to 192,761, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in Kosovo's hotels increased to 321,308 last year from 273,394 a year earlier, the statistical office said in a statement.
Most of the foreign visitors to Kosovo came from Albania, Germany, and Turkey. The capital Pristina and the city of Prizren were the top tourist destinations.
In the fourth quarter alone, the number of foreign tourists increased to 44,830 from 32,728 in the same period of 2017.

Kosovo's statistical office said that in the fourth quarter of 2018 only 12.3% of the country's hotel capacity was used.
Kosovo's statistical office considers as tourists people who spend at least one night in a hotel in the country, and not the number of persons crossing the border.
