Forbes puts Croatia's Mate Rimac on its 30 Under 30 list

January 18 (SeeNews) - A 28-year old entrepreneur from Croatia, Mate Rimac, has been included in Forbes' 2017 European edition of its 30 Under 30 list, it has been revealed.

The founder of Rimac Automobili, a developer and producer of high-performance electric cars, was selected in the category of industry, Forbes said in its new annual publication.

"Rimac's aim is for a company that's cooler than Tesla, building electric cars are not only efficient and environmental friendly, but also be fast and exciting", Forbes wrote. "The goal is to build-up an automotive company in Croatia - which never had a car industry and very few technology-based companies".

Mate Rimac started his business in his garage and has since won multiple awards for his technology, Forbes added.

Forbes' 30 Under 30 list features 300 young innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders across Europe who are under 30 years of age and who are transforming business, technology, finance, media, culture and more.

Rimac Automobili, based in Sveta Nedelja - a town in the Zagreb County, was founded in 2009 with the vision to create the sportscar of the 21st century.

"Today, we are unleashing the full potential of Nikola Tesla’s invention, the alternating current electric motor, in many ways and industries", the company says on its website.
