The restaurant, which will offer pizza, pasta and salads, is located near the centre of the Kosovan capital Pristina, Vapiano said in an Instagram post.
Kosovo tech and food company Foleja operates the franchise in Kosovo through its food division, it has said. It plans to open new Vapiano restaurants also in Albania and North Macedonia.
Established in 2002, Vapiano has over 150 franchise restaurants in Europe, the Americas and Africa, according to its website.
The company filed for insolvency in April 2020. In June that year, Vapiano was bought out of insolvency by a group of hospitality investors led by former board member Mario C. Bauer.
