March 26 (SeeNews) - Maltese state-owned company Enemalta plans to put into operation under test mode the 46 MW Mozura wind farm in Montenegro at the end of March, Podgorica-based media reported.
During the tests, compliance with the network will be checked, daily Dnevne Novine reported on Monday, quoting sources from the economy ministry.
As much as 86 million euro ($97.3 million) of the total 89 million euro of planned investments in the project have already been made, Dnevne Novine said.
Mozura wind farm was initially due to go into operation under test mode in September but the launch was delayed twice - to November and December.
Shanghai Electric Power Engineering, Enemalta's contractor for the construction of the facility, installed the first wind turbine out of a total of 23 that make up the 46 MW Mozura wind farm in April 2018.
In September, Montenegro's government gave the green light to the proposed acquisition of 90% of the capital of Mozura Wind Park by Malta Montenegro Wind Power from Enemalta. After the transaction, Enemalta remained an investor in the construction of the Mozura wind farm and two other companies joined the project, the government said at the time.
International Renewable Energy Development Limited, a joint venture company incorporated by Enemalta and Shanghai Electric in 2015, controls a 70% stake in Malta Montenegro Wind Power JV, while the remainder is in the hands of Guernsey-based Vestigo Clean Energy I Limited and Hong Kong-based Envision Energy International Limited.
