The project aims to enhance energy performance in public educational buildings across 10 cities in Montenegro. It will improve thermal comfort, health, and well-being for over 19,000 users by upgrading heating, cooling, ventilation systems, and thermal insulation, the EBRD said in a statement on Wednesday.
The project is expected to enable energy savings estimated at 22,319 MWh per year, or 53% compared to the baseline. Total greenhouse gas (GHG) savings are estimated at 4,273 tCO2 per year, or 52%, the statement read.
The selected buildings include 18 elementary schools, three secondary schools, two kindergartens and one high education school.
The EBRD is due to approve the loan on September 11.
The total value of the project is 24.1 million euro.
