October 4 (SeeNews) - UK-based automotive propulsion solutions provider Delphi Technologies said on Thursday it opened a multidisciplinary global IT centre in Romania's capital Bucharest.
The Bucharest office will host up to 150 people who will cover basic functions such as security and IT compliance, IT architecture, IT operations, company resource planning and delivering global solutions, Delphi Technologies said in a press release.

Located in the Globalworth campus in business park Pipera, the new workplace will provide information technology services for the company's technology centres, factories and support divisions across the world.
The company said it chose Bucharest for its IT centre due to the availability of a skilled and talented work force.
"Our new global IT centre in Bucharest represents a continuous commitment to existing investments in Romania. We are creating a global IT team that will provide a platform to support more than 20,000 employees around the world, " Delphi Technologies vice president and chief information officer, Edward Mandic, said.
The investment in Bucharest adds to more than 300 million euro ($347 million) that Delphi has already invested in its production capacity in the Romanian city of Iasi, where high-pressure pumps and injectors for the automotive industry are produced.
Delphi Technologies develops, designs and manufactures powertrain technologies for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The company also offers full suite of aftermarket products.
