The project included building a rooftop solar installation of 1.1 MW at the company’s plant Slavonka in Vinkovci, eastern Croatia, with an envisaged annual production of 1,632,571 kWh of electricity for its own needs, Nexe said in a press release.
The project, which also included buying new equipment, will result in electricity savings of 2,242,934 kWh and a decrease of CO2 emissions by 703.69 tonnes per year.
“In order to raise the level of energy self-sufficiency and energy efficiency, we have set a medium-term goal to meet with own renewable energy sources more than 25% of our electricity demand,” the CEO of Nexe, Ivan Ergovic, said in the press release.
