Croatia's agricultural output volume shrinks 1.2% in 2023

July 9 (SeeNews) - The volume of gross agricultural output in Croatia decreased by 1.2% on the year in 2023, due to a 13.2% decline in animal production, the statistical office said.

Crop production increased 6.5% last year, the statistical office said in an annual report on Friday.

Maize production rose 21.3%, soya beans output went up 9.4%, while sunflower production increased 3.1%.

Within gross agricultural production in 2023, crop output contributed 65.5% and animal production had a share of 34.5%.

Among the products with a larger share in animal production, the output of all products decreased in 2023 compared to 2022, excluding the production of poultry, which rose by 1.5%.
