Croatian Shares Fall, Turnover Drops

December 24 (SeeNews) - The share indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) fell and turnover dropped sharply on Thursday, bourse data showed.

Croatian Shares Fall, Turnover Drops

The 24-share benchmark CROBEX index closed 0.45% lower at 1,987.42 points after rising 0.70% on Wednesday.

The narrower blue-chip index, CROBEX10, which tracks the 10 leading companies in terms of free-float market capitalisation and liquidity, fell by 0.43% to 1,052.87 points.

The CROX index, which tracks the 12 most traded stocks on the ZSE and is calculated by the Vienna bourse, lost 0.83% in euro terms to 1,232.80 points.

HT-Hrvatske Telekomunikacije posted the session's highest turnover of some 2.4 million kuna ($471,000/328,000 euro). Its shares closed 0.09% lower at 274.70 kuna.

ZSE's total turnover in floor trading dropped to 4.2 million kuna from Wednesday's 30 million kuna.

The fixed-income CROBIS index edged up 0.14% to 95.97 points.

The bourse will be closed on Friday due to the Christmas holidays.
