Croatian shares end higher, Varteks gains 25% before delisting

June 4 (SeeNews) - The main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange slightly advanced on Tuesday amidst a higher turnover, bourse data showed.

The 21-share benchmark, the CROBEX, climbed 0.20% to close at 2,813.62 points.

The narrower equity index CROBEX10, which tracks the top ten issuers in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, rose 0.18% to 1,687.55 points.

Blue chip hotel owner and manager Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP] was the most traded company with a turnover of some 298,000 euro ($324,000) as its shares ended unchanged at 5.04 euro.

Food and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR] ranked second by turnover with 63,400 euro as its shares declined 0.32% to 156.50 euro.

Shares of luxury clothing producer Varteks [ZSE:VART] closed at 0.15 euro, up 25% on Tuesday, the last trading on the bourse before their delisting.

The total on-exchange turnover reached 1.4 million euro from just 667,300 euro on Monday, boosted by a 602,000 euro block deal with preferred shares of diversified holding company Adris [ZSE:ADRS2].
