Gross written premiums from non-life insurance rose by an annual 4.25% to 6.043 billion kuna at the end of September, whereas the life insurance segment earned premiums of 1.999 billion kuna in the review period, down 15.37% compared to end-September 2019, the insurance bureau said in a monthly report.
Croatia Osiguranje was the largest insurance company in the Adriatic country at the end of September, with 2.185 billion kuna in gross written premiums. Euroherc Osiguranje, which offers only non-life insurance, followed with 982 million kuna and Allianz Zagreb was third with 884 million kuna.
A total of 18 insurance companies operated in Croatia as at end-September.
Croatia's insurers earned gross written premiums of 10.5 billion kuna in 2019, up 7% year-on-year.
