The economy ministry has received the bid by CE Industries, it said in a e-mailed statement to SeeNews, without disclosing details of the offer.

On Wednesday, the Jutarnji List daily reported that CE Industries has sent a binding bid to the Croatian government and the ministries of finance and economy for the purchase of a 55.77% stake in the shipyard for 155 million kuna ($20.5 million/20.5 million euro).

The bid was sent at the beginning of this week and is valid for 45 days, Jutarnji List added.

Uljanik Brodogradnja 1856 has some 500 employees.

CE Industries recently acquired 81.83% of the equity capital of Croatian holding company Djuro Djakovic [ZSE:DDJH].
