September 11 (SeeNews) - Romanian majority state-owned oil pipeline operator Conpet [BSE:COTE] led the gainers among the blue-chips on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) on Monday, bourse data showed.
The total equity turnover of the BVB fell to 72 million lei ($19 million/16 million euro) from 110 million lei on Friday. Turnover was boosted by one block deal with Banca Transilvania [BSE:TLV] shares worth over 17.4 million lei.
Conpet was the top blue-chip gainer, adding 5.94% to 107 lei in 547,184 lei turnover.
Blue chip lender Banca Transilvania rose 2.47% to 2.28 lei in the day's largest turnover of 13.14 million lei.
Blue chip BRD Groupe Societe Generale [BSE: BRD] traded 4.37% higher at 12.9 lei in the day's second largest turnover of 10.45 million lei.
Blue-chip natural gas producer Romgaz [BSE:SNG] lost 1.76% to 31.8 lei in the day's third largest turnover of 8.31 million lei.
On Friday, Romgaz said it has received a request from the government, its majority shareholder, for an early distribution of 750 million lei in dividend for 2017. Romgaz board will now convene to decide on a date for the ordinary general meeting of the company shareholders, which will have the approval of the request as the main item on the agenda.
BVB said on August 23 that its deputy chief Alin Barbu will fill in for CEO Ludwik Sobolewski, who is awaiting an extension to his term of office.
Currently, Barbu legally represents the BVB and ensures its day-to-day management, in accordance with internal rules, BVB said.
