BELGRADE (Serbia), July 26 (SeeNews) – Serbia's HealthCare Europe, a joint venture company of Denmark's Everrest Aps and China's Healthcare Co, plans to invest 10 million euro ($11.1 million) in expansion of its production plant in Ruma, in northern Serbia, local media reported on Friday.

The joint venture company plans to open 300 new jobs as part of the capacity expansion project, daily Vecernje Novosti reported.

HealthCare Europe, which manufactures memory foam mattresses and pillows, started operations in Ruma three years ago and currently employs 600 people.

A total of 800 jobs will be opened in Ruma at five new factories by the end of the year, Vecernje Novosti quoted the mayor of Ruma, Sladjan Mancic, as saying.

"We expect fresh investments soon, and such a climate has led to higher demand for workers, and even higher salaries."

Serbian company AMC-Afrodita is currently completing the construction of a 1,400 square metre production unit in Ruma's industrial zone and plans to hire 100 workers, Bosnian firm Komerc-mali intends to open 50 jobs at a reinforcement mesh factory in Kraljevci, and Slovenia's Cablex aims to expand its Platicevo factory and hire 100 employees, Vecernje Novosti said.

In addition, Dag Co is investing 1 million euro in the production of footwear for the police, army and mountaineers, and plans to soon hire at least 300 employees.
