April 18 (SeeNews) - Chinese bus manufacturer Yutong Bus is interested in cooperating with Serbian peer Neobus in an attempt to secure a foothold in the countries of former Yugoslavia and the wider Southeast European region, Belgrade-based media reported on Thursday.
A delegation of officials from the Chinese company has arrived in the Serbian city of Novi Sad, where Neobus is headquartered, with plans to start talks on cooperation opportunities, news daily Vecernje Novosti (www.novosti.rs) reported, quoting Neobus board chairman Zoran Kijac.

The plan is to develop a prototype of a bus with the Chinese partners which would meet all relevant EU requirements and would be cost-efficient to manufacture, Kijac said.
Neobus went bankrupt a few months ago after its partnership with Netherlands-based VDL Bus Chassis failed, Novosti said.
