February 20 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian thermal power plant (TPP) Bobov Dol [BUL:TC8A] said on Thursday that its consolidated net profit rose to 4.6 million levs ($2.5 million/2.4 million euro) in 2019 from 3.2 million levs in 2018, backed by higher revenue.
The power plant's revenue grew to 155.6 million levs last year from 118.9 million levs in 2018, TPP Bobov Dol said in an annual financial statement.
Operating expenses increased to 150.8 million levs in 2019 from 115.2 million levs the year before. Expenses for hired services nearly doubled to 26.5 million levs from 13.7 million levs, while expenses for materials grew by 12 million levs to 72 million levs.
Last month, a consortium of TPP Bobov Dol and heating utility Toplofikatsiya Sliven won an 8.85 million levs deal to utilise refuse-derived fuel (RDF) produced from Sofia's municipal waste.
TPP Bobov Dol, established in 2000, is a coal-fired power plant located in the Kyustendil region, in southwestern Bulgaria, with an installed capacity of 630 megawatts. In 2008, the government sold Bobov Dol TPP to Consortium Energy MK, which remains its sole owner.
