December 20 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's sole nuclear power plant (NPP) Kozloduy said that its net profit grew almost three times to 717.5 million levs ($414.9 million/366.9 million euro) in the nine months through September from 245.1 million levs in the same period of last year, backed by higher electricity prices.
NPP Kozloduy's revenue from electricity sales grew by an annual 71% to 1.57 billion levs, the power plant's operator said in an interim financial statement.
According to data from the plant's website, the plant's electricity output totalled 14,875,623 MWh in the January-November period of this year, down from 15,061,815 MWh or the comparable period of 2020.
The company's operating expenses rose by an annual 18% to 790.9 million levs in the first nine months of the year, the financial statement added.
NPP Kozloduy's assets went up to 3.61 billion levs at the end of the third quarter, as compared to 3.48 billion levs at the end of 2020.
NPP Kozloduy has two operational units - Units 5 and 6, of 1,000 MW each.
