June 18 (SeeNews) - Luka Angelov, a shareholder in Bulgarian poultry producer Gradus [BUL:GR6], has proposed the distribution of an overall gross dividend of 5 million levs ($2.7 million/2.6 million euro) for 2023, the company said.

Angelov also proposed that the remainder of the company's net profit of 5.1 million levs reported for last year be retained, Gradus said in a bourse filing on Monday.

The gross dividend per share would be determined later as Gradus is currently undergoing a share buyback programme.

Shareholders will vote on the proposal at a general meeting scheduled for June 28.

Last month, Gradus said its management will ask shareholders to retain all of its 2023 earnings as undistributed profit. The poultry producer paid out a gross dividend of some 0.02 levs per share for 2022, or 5 million levs in total, according to previously disclosed information.

Luka Angelov, who co-founded the company with his brother Ivan in 1992, owned a stake of 40.77% in Gradus as of the end of 2023. At the time, his brother owned 20.68% of the company's equity capital.

Shares in Gradus last traded on June 12 when they closed at 1.50 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, bourse data show.
