Bulgaria's largest car battery manufacturer, MonBat, on Thursday said it posted a pre-tax profit of 6.184 million levs ($4.4 million/3.16 million euro) for the first five months of 2009, down 54.88% from a year earlier. Sales fell 53.57% year-on-year to 38.58 million levs through May, the company said in a statement to the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) where it is listed.
