June 22 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria and Greece are working together on a possible hydrogen pipeline interconnection which would aim to achieve at least 5% connectivity by the start of 2025, local media reported.
The target is to reach a connectivity rate of 10% to 15% between the two countries within the same time frame, public radio BNR quoted the CEO of gas grid operator Bulgartransgaz, Vladimir Malinov, as saying on Tuesday.
The potential works would involve the construction of completely new transmission networks, including a hydrogen pipeline to the Maritsa lignite basin in southern Bulgaria.
There is also a joint project for a hydrogen gas link between Sofia and Thessaloniki, Malinov was quoted as saying. He added that he will visit Athens next week to discuss the envisaged projects with the Greek side.
