June 15 (SeeNews) - The government of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Federation said it has approved a programme worth a total of 1 million marka ($554,350/511,292 euro) to subsidise citizens and companies for the purchase of new electric and hybrid vehicles this year.
The entity's government will provide a total of 500,000 marka in subsidies to companies and another 500,000 marka to citizens for the purchase of electric or hybrid vehicles, it said in a press release on Wednesday.
The subsidies for the acquisition of electric vehicles will stand at 10,000 marka. A subsidy of 7,000 marka will be provided for the acquisition of plug-in hybrid vehicles and 5,000 marka for the purchase of full hybrid vehicles.
Citizens and firms can apply for the subsidies by December 11 or until the amount budgeted is spent.
Last year, the government of the Federation provided 1 million marka in subsidies for the purchase of new electric and hybrid vehicles, aimed at citizens only.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Serb Republic is the other entity.
