SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), October 12 (SeeNews) – Bosnian engineering company Energoinvest [SAJ:ENISR] said on Wednesday it had signed a $39.5 million (35.9 million euro) turnkey deal with Tanzania Electric Supply Company for the construction of a 400 kV transmission line in the African country.
Energoinvest was awarded the deal in consortium with Indian company EMC, Energoinvest said in a statement on its website. The consortium is led by the Bosnian company, it added.
The works are a part of a Kenya-Tanzania power interconnection project, which consists of three lots. The consortium will work on Lot 3, which foresees the construction of a 400 kV transmission line from Arusha (Tanzania) to the border with Kenya, a distance of 114 km.
The deadline for the completion of works is 22 months.
Energoinvest has representative offices in Kosovo, Turkey, Croatia, Ethiopia, Algeria and Libya.
In January, the government of Bosnia's Federation said it approved the privatisation agency's business plan for 2016 which foresees the sale of government equity in six major companies, including a 67% stake in Enegoinvest.
The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the two autonomous entities that form Bosnia. The other is the Serb Republic.
