February 7 (SeeNews) - U.S. technology group Booking Holdings leased 8,000 sq m in the U Center office project in Bucharest, where it plans to open a center of excellence, real estate developer Forte Partners said on Monday.
The centre will serve as a hub for specialised and highly skilled workforce, software development and collaboration between the holding's cybersecurity, IT and finance departments and its various brands, Forte Partners said in a press release.
The excellence office will generate several hundred jobs, deal advisor CBRE Romania head of advisory and transaction services Alina Calciu said.
The first phase of U Center was finalised during the third quarter of 2021, and works for the second phase of the project were started in the second half of last year. The project comprises 63,000 sq m of offices, including a retail space on ground floor.
Booking Holdings is a travel technology company organized in Delaware and based in Norwalk, Connecticut, that owns and operates several travel fare aggregators and travel fare metasearch engines including namesake and flagship Booking, Priceline, Agoda, Kayak, Cheapflights, Rentalcars, Momondo and OpenTable. It operates websites in about 40 languages and 200 countries, according to its website.
