April 12 (SeeNews) - Serbia's consumer prices rose by 5% year-on-year in March, after increasing by an annual 5.6% in February, the statistical office said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Serbia's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.3% in March, after rising by 0.6% in February, the statistical office said in a statement.
The sharpest price increases compared to the previous year, by 9.2%, were registered in restaurant and hotel services in March. Following closely behind were healthcare services, with an 8.1% annual increase, and alcohol and tobacco with an 8% rise.
Prices related to housing, water, and energy increased by 7.6% year on year in March, while prices of recreation services and culture activities added 7.1%. Prices of clothing and footwear went up by an annual 6.4% while household equipment and maintenance appreciated by 6.3%.
On a monthly comparison basis, prices of communication services rose by 2.9% in March, restaurant and hotel services added 0.6% and healthcare services were 0.5% more expensive.
