April 30 (SeeNews) - Serbia's economic output grew by a real 4.6% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2024, the country's statistical office said in a flash estimate on Tuesday.
More details on the growth of Serbia's gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter will be released on May 31, the statistical office said in a statement.
Serbia's GDP expanded by an annual 3.8% in the last quarter of 2023, according to previously disclosed data.
In January, Serbia’s economy grew by an annual 3.8%, exceeding expectations mainly due to the contributions of the ICT and business service sectors.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said earlier this month that that it expects Serbia's economy to grow by 3.5% this year, revising upwards its previous forecast of 3% growth made in October. The latest IMF forecast equals the projection of Serbia’s government, which said in February that it expects the country’s economy to expand by 3.5% in 2024.
