April 17 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip BELEX15 index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange closed 0.52% higher at 1,007.65 points on Wednesday, boosted by gains in industrial gases producer Messer Tehnogas [BEL:TGAS], bourse data showed.
Messer added 4% to 26,000 dinars in a volume of 44 shares.
At the other end, oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS] paced the blue-chip decliners, closing 0.92% lower at 860 dinars. A total of 15,580 NIS shares changed hands generating the day's largest turnover of 13.4 million dinars.
The broader BELEXline, a free-float market capitalisation weighted index, also rose, closing 0.45% higher at 2,165.80 points.
Total turnover on the Belgrade bourse plummeted to 31.2 million dinars ($283,600/266,700 euro) on Wednesday from 368.5 million dinars on Tuesday. Trading in Treasury bonds accounted for 14.5 million dinars of Wednesday's turnover.
