April 30 (SeeNews) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's foreign debt totalled 8.99 billion marka ($4.9 billion/4.6 billion euro) at the end of March, slightly up from 8.92 billion marka at the end of the previous quarter, finance ministry data showed on Tuesday.
The external debt of the Federation rose to 5.21 billion marka at the end of March from 5.18 billion marka three months earlier, whereas the foreign debt of the Serb Republic increased to 3.69 billion marka from 3.65 billion marka, the finance ministry said in a quarterly debt report.
The foreign debt of Brcko district amounted to 41.88 million marka at the end of March, down from 45.30 million marka at the end of December. The external debt of the state-level institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina edged down to 44.58 million marka at the end of March from 46.50 million marka three months earlier.
At the end of 2023, Bosnia's external debt totalled 8.921 billion marka, down from 9.811 billion marka at the end of 2022.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is made up of two autonomous entities - the Serb Republic and the Federation, and the self-governing Brcko District.
