April 19 (SeeNews) - State-owned Telekom Srbija said it has opened its first two stores in Germany, in Monchengladbach and Dusseldorf, expanding further its European operations.
“After Austria and Switzerland, where MTEL has had highly successful operations for years now, the German market was the next sensible step. We have created a unique service attractive to all citizens of Germany, with special emphasis on numerous ex-Yu expats who live here, but the expats from other countries as well“, Telekom Srbija CEO Vladimir Lucic said in a press release on Thursday.
Apart from these two stores, Telekom Srbija has opened a sales outlet in Munich and plans to open a store in Bochum soon. The company expects to have 30 sales outlets throughout Germany by the end of this year.
The company's strategic partner on the implementation of its services in Germany is Vodafone.
In Germany, the company will operate under the name MTEL Germany and will offer mobile and television services. Telekom Srbija began offering its services in Germany in July 2023. The company also expanded to Turkey last year and plans to expand to the U.S. later this year.
Telekom Srbija has operations in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Montenegro. The company recorded a profit of 34 billion dinars ($309.3 million/290.2 million euro) in 2023.
