May 25 (SeeNews) - Russian state-controlled oil company Zarubezhneft JSC told SeeNews on Thursday it is interested in the construction of a low-pressure gas pipeline to its Brod refinery in Bosnia.
The company has established a commission involving officials of Croatia, Bosnia and its entity the Serb Republic towards the project's implementation, Zarubezhneft said in response to a SeeNews inquiry.
"The decision regarding the pipeline's construction is subject to the competence of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Serb Republic", the company noted.
Zarubezhneft, however, declined to confirm or deny media reports that it has entered negotiations with Croatian companies, including the Croatian unit of Slovenia's Geoplin, on the pipeline's construction.
Russian media quoted earlier this week foreign minister Sergey Lavrov as saying that Zarubezhneft is negotiating the gasification of its Brod refinery with Croatian companies.
The oil refinery is located in the Serb Republic, one of two entities that make up Bosnia. Russia's Zarubezhneft, via its subsidiary NeftegazInCor, owns 80% of Brod, along with 75.65% of refinery Modrica and 80% of fuel retailer Nestro Petrol.
