Wizz Air market share at 28% in summer 2023

The carrier operated 18,000 flights to and from destinations in Bulgaria in 2023, a 14% increase on the previous year, the company's corporate communications manager Sasha Vislaus told a media breakfast in Sofia.

The company did not disclose information about its financial performance and the number of passengers it transported on routes to and from Bulgaria last year, nor about its expectations for 2024.

Globally, the company carried 60.3 million passengers last year, a 32% increase compared to 2022.

In September, Wizz Air marked its 18th anniversary in Bulgaria, transporting 25 million passengers to and from the country during this period.

In 2022, Wizz Air carried over 2.6 million passengers in Bulgaria, up from 1.4 million in 2021.
