July 5 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) said it launched on Monday its BSE International market, allowing local investors to invest directly in well-known international companies.
The shares of about 100 top international companies, including Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, IBM, Intel, Cisco, 3М, Siemens, General Electric Co. and Tesla, are being traded on the new market, the BSE said in a statement.
Investors can also invest in exchange-traded funds (ETFs), which follow the performance of indices such as DAX, S&P 500, FTSE All-World, NASDAQ-100 and STOXX Europe 600, the BSE added.
"Trading in international blue-chip companies increases the investment instruments on the BSE, making the exchange a more attractive place to trade. The shares listed on BSE International are constantly quoted by a market maker, which makes them an easily accessible and liquid investment opportunity for market participants," Manyu Moravenov, executive director of the BSE said in the statement.
BSE International's trading party is Germany's Tradegate AG, which is the market maker of all BSE International issues registered on the market and will provide liquidity, according to the statement.
Berlin-based Tradegate AG Wertpapierhandelsbank offers a wide range of financial services of all kinds. The focus of the company's activities is on the stock exchange trading of thousands of domestic and foreign securities, especially on the stock exchanges Tradegate Exchange, Frankfurt Stock Exchange and Berlin Stock Exchange, according to information published on Tradegate AG's website.
