The benchmark index was driven up by a 3.18% gain in Central Cooperative Bank [BUL:CCB] to 1.62 levs and a 1.98% rise in IoT products maker Shelly Group [BUL:SLYG] to 72.00 levs.

The two companies also supported the BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, and the BGTR30, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. The best performer in the BGBX40 index, however, was diversified group Synergon Holding [BUL:SNRG], which surged 9.84% to 1.06 levs.

Overall, the BGBX40 added 0.35% to 169.16 points, whereas the BGTR30 index grew by 0.22% to 855.52 points.

The BEAMX index, which tracks the ten most highly capitalised growth companies, closed 0.77% higher at 105.75 points. It was spurred on by cargo drone developer Dronamics' special purpose vehicle Dronamics Capital [BUL:DRON], which advanced by 3.70% to 2.80 levs.

In contrast, the BGREIT, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, slid 0.19% to 189.75 points as a result of a 0.93% tumble in Advance Terrafund REIT [BUL:ATER] to 3.20 levs.

Total turnover on the main market of the Sofia bourse increased to 8.86 million levs ($4.9 million/4.5 million euro) on Wednesday from 6.02 million levs a day earlier.
