"The Group considers the agreement to be in the best interest of its stakeholders, and has therefore accepted the offer made in accordance with government decree," the group said in a filing with the Ljubljana Stock Exchange on Monday.
Triglav Group had submitted a claim to the health ministry seeking reimbursement of the difference between the costs paid by the company to healthcare service providers and the insurance income from supplemental healthcare insurance during the reference period from June 2023 to December 2023, it said.
The Slovenian government adopted in April 2023 a decree on setting the maximum price of supplemental health insurance premium to apply until the supplementary health insurance is reformed based on amendments to the Healthcare and Health Insurance Act.
In 2022, health insurance accounted for 15% of Triglav's total written premium, whereas its contribution to the group's total profit in recent years was limited and negative in 2022.
