The company has already hired 125 new workers since the middle of August in order to meet increased production needs, news wire Siol.net reported.

New workers are needed in all production units at Gorenje, particularly in the manufacturing of washing machines and tumble driers, Siol.net said.

China's Hisense Group which took over Gorenje last year has revealed plans to restructure the Slovenian company and its subsidiaries in order to provide for their long-term growth and development.

The management of Gorenje plans to build a 10 million euro ($11 million) plant for TV sets which will manufacture over two million units per year and will double its output subsequently, Siol.net said.

The company also plans to double the refrigerators production in its Valjevo plant in Serbia, according to the media report.

Gorenje has said it turned to a consolidated net loss of 29.5 million euro in the first half of 2019, from a profit of 400,000 euro a year earlier.
