June 1 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's economic sentiment index decreased in May by a monthly 1.4 percentage points (pps) to 2.9 pps, after growing 2.7 pps month-on-month in April, the country's statistical office said.
On an annual comparison basis, the overall economic sentiment indicator fell by 2.8 pps in May, after growing by 4.8 pps in April, the statistical office said in a statement.
The monthly decrease was influenced by confidence indicators in manufacturing, which fell by 0.9 pps, and among consumers, down 0.7 pps. Confidence indicators in services and in construction had a positive impact of 0.2 pps each, while the confidence indicator in retail trade had no impact.
The indicator was lower at the annual level due to the decrease in confidence indicators in manufacturing by 4.1 pps and among consumers by 2.6 pps, while confidence indicators in services rose by 3.2 pps, in retail trade by 0.4 pps, and in construction by 0.3 pps.
The sentiment indicator is the weighted average of the confidence indicators in manufacturing, retail trade, construction, services and the consumer confidence indicator.
