August 4 (SeeNews) - The revenue of Slovenian road network operator DARS from the sale of road tax vignette stickers fell 16% on the year to 110.61 million euro ($129.8 million) in the seven months through June due to the coronavirus pandemic, local media reported.
In the period from the beginning of December until the end of June, state-controlled DARS sold almost 2.5 million vignette stickers for year 2020, down by an annual 34%, state news agency STA reported on Monday.
DARS operates a motorway network of 623.3 tolled kilometres under a concession agreement with the government.
Last week, S&P Global Ratings said it has assigned the company with 'A+' long-term issuer credit ratings and a stable outlook, adding it believes that there is an extremely high likelihood that its owner - the Republic of Slovenia (AA-/Stable/A-1+), would provide timely and sufficient extraordinary support to DARS in the event of financial distress.
DARS has said its net profit fell 10% to 140 million euro in 2019, as expenses grew faster than revenues. Toll tax revenue rose 3% to 467 million euro last year, making up 89% of total revenue.
