Slovenian banks Jan-Apr net profit rises

June 18 (SeeNews) - The net profit of commercial banks in Slovenia rose to 310.2 million euro ($332.6 million) in the first four months of 2024 from 197.8 million euro in the like period of the previous year, the central bank said.

The banks' net interest income grew to 535.5 million euro in the period under review from 422.8 million euro, whereas non-interest income went up 63.5% on the year to 185.5 million euro, Bank of Slovenia said in its monthly report on the performance of the banking sector.

The total gross income of banks in Slovenia grew to 721 million euro in the first four months of 2024 from 536.2 million euro, while operating costs increased 17.4% to 347.9 million euro.

The banks' total assets grew to 52.523 billion euro at end-April, down from 53.082 billion euro at the end of 2023.
