May 25 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's telecommunications regulator, AKOS, said it has started preparing public tenders for allocating radio frequencies for mobile technologies.
In particular, AKOS plans to launch a tender for awarding radio frequencies in the 700 MHz, 1400/1500 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 3600 MHz and 26 GHz bands, as well as a tender for allocation of radio frequencies in the 700 MHz band for provision of M2M (Machine to Machine) services via dedicated networks for critical infrastructure, it said in a statement last week.
M2M refers to a wireless network setup that enables free communication between devices of the same type.
AKOS expects to submit the information memorandum for the multi-frequency tender for public discussions in July/August 2020, while the information memorandum for the M2M tender is planned to be offered for public discussions already by the end of May.
The telecommunications regulator has also started drafting a new radio spectrum management strategy for the 2021-2023 period which it plans to submit for public discussion in June.
