May 12 (SeeNews) - Slovenia is lifting the ban on international air passenger flights on May 12, nearly two months after it imposed it to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease, the government said.
The government decided not to extend the measures restricting air passenger transport from all countries including the EU member states, it said in a statement on Monday.
It added that the measures banning passenger flights from the EU and third countries are no longer necessary and rational since the public health authorities in each country have introduced measures, such as compulsory quarantine, for both foreign travellers and returning citizens.
As of midday on Monday, Slovenia had 1,460 registered coronavirus infections and 102 deaths, according to latest government data.
