May 15 (SeeNews) - Slovenia is reopening its road, air and sea borders to foreign nationals, the Slovenian government said, officially declaring an end to coronavirus epidemic in the country.
However, non-EU citizens, unlike nationals of EU member states, will still have to go through a 14-day quarantine upon their entry in the country, the government said in a statement on Thursday.
People with Covid-19 symptoms and people who test positive for the disease, but are not Slovenian residents, will not be allowed to enter the country.
"The current epidemiological situation allows for the loosening of measures that were necessary to contain and control the contagious Covid-19 disease, but not their complete elimination," the government said.
Slovenia registered its first coronavirus infection on March 4. The number of confirmed cases reached 1,464 by the morning of May 14, the government said, adding that the cumulative 14-day incidence rate is 35 cases.
A total of 103 people have died from the coronavirus disease in Slovenia by the morning of May 14.
