BELGRADE (Serbia), March 25 (SeeNews) – Serbian state-owned defence products maker Jugoimport-SDPR signed an agreement for the sale of Lazar 3 multi-role military vehicles to Turkmenistan, Belgrade-based media reported.
"This is great news not only for Jugoimport-SDPR but also for its subcontractors because it is the first time that we are selling the Lazar 3 combat vehicle to a country in Asia. Lazar 3 has not been sold outside Serbia so far," news portal Sputnik quoted earlier this week Miroslav Lazanski, Serbia's ambassador to Russia and non-resident ambassador to Turkmenistan, as saying.
Lazar 3 is the latest version of the Lazar armoured vehicle family of armed personnel carriers produced by Borbeni Slozeni Sistemi (BSS), a subsidiary of Jugoimport-SDPR, at its factory in Velika Plana, in eastern Serbia.
