The country's exports increased by 0.6% to 12.159 billion euro in the January-May period, while imports grew by 1.2% to 15.702 billion euro, the statistics office said in a statement.
The export-import ratio fell to 77.4% in the first five months of 2024 from 77.9% in the corresponding period of 2023.
In May alone, Serbia's trade gap widened to 859 million euro from 758 million euro in May 2023, with the monthly exports dropping 3.3% on the year to 2.364 billion euro and imports rising 0.6% to 3.223 billion euro.
In 2023, Serbia's trade gap narrowed by 28% to 8.228 billion euro.
