August 31 (SeeNews) - Serbia's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by a real 13.7% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2021, after rising by 1.8% in the previous quarter, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.On a quarterly comparison basis, Serbia's economy rose by 1.3% in the second quarter of 2021, after growing 2.0% in January-March, the statistical office said in a statement.The second quarter of 2021 saw a significant rise of gross value added in real terms in the sector of wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; transportation and storage; accommodation and food service activities, of 33.3% year-on-year, as well as 30.9% in the sector of professional, scientific and technical activities; administrative and support service activities.The gross value added in the sector of agriculture, forestry and fishing decreased by 1.6%.Among the GDP components, household final consumption expenditure rose by 17.6% and gross fixed capital formation went up 22.5%.Real fall was registered for the general government final consumption expenditure, of 3.8%.
