BELGRADE (Serbia), August 18 (SeeNews) – Serbian company ICM Electronics has laid the groundwork for the country’s first automated factory, in the northern village of Platicevo, ICM marketing manager Nenad Micic told SeeNews. The 2008 construction costs of the factory, which will mainly manufacture welding machines, are expected to be about one million euro ($1.47 million). The facility will span one square kilometre and production is due to begin by year’s end. The Saturday ceremony was attended by Japanese company, and ICM partner, Fanuc Robotic’s European director Lionel Mercou and the Japanese Ambassador to Serbia, Tadashi Nagai. (1 euro = $1.4723)
