April 20 (SeeNews) - Serbia plans to start the construction of a national football stadium and an event centre in Belgrade by the end of this year, local media reported.
Construction is expected to be completed by the beginning or middle of 2026, finance minister Sinisa Mali was quoted as saying by local media outlet Blic on Wednesday.
Work on the necessary infrastructure has already begun, Mali added.
According to Serbian media reports, the government plans to invest 350 million euro ($384 million) in the construction of the 60,000-seat stadium which will have a four- or five-star Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) category.
