The project includes the construction of a bridge over the Danube, connecting Petrovaradin and Kac, which will significantly reduce traffic through Novi Sad, the ministry said in a press release on Thursday.

In January 2023, the Serbian government said plans to build three bridges across the Danube river in Novi Sad worth a total of 360 million euro ($390.3 million).

The 606 million euro Fruska Gora Corridor road project, which represents an upgrade to the Novi Sad-Ruma section of Serbia's IB-21 state road, will be carried out by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).
